A beautiful little communion booklet from 1913, titled ZieleSpijs (Soul Food), written by Th. de Haan, chaplain.

This liturgical booklet was used during Sundays and feast days within the Roman Catholic Church and contains prayers, meditations, and communion texts. This copy was printed in Leiden and bears ecclesiastical approval from May 1913.

What makes this book special is its red edges, compact hand-held size, and the original insert with a novena prayer. The binding is simply executed in dark linen – exactly as one would expect from early 20th-century church printing.
