Dutch States Bible 1884 – New Testament – Leather Binding with Working Clasp – Gilt Edges
Antique Dutch New Testament from 1884, printed by Johannes Enschedé en Zonen in Haarlem in cooperation with the Nederlandsche Bijbel-Compagnie.
Executed in a compact, full leather binding with blind-stamped frame and a beautifully engraved metal clasp. The clasp functions correctly and, together with the rich gilt-edged pages, forms a striking visual element.
The text block is in clean condition with clear print and minimal signs of age. The leather hinges show slight drying cracks, commensurate with its age, but the binding is structurally solid.
A characterful 19th-century church or travel Bible with charisma, suitable as a collector's item or a decorative statement in a classic interior.
