Japanese Teapot with Figural Decor | ca. 1920–1940
Atmospheric Japanese teapot from the early 20th century, manufactured for the export market. The pot is richly decorated with a hand-painted scene of two figures in traditional attire, set in a stylized landscape with trees. The warm earth tones and glossy glaze give the object a serene, almost narrative appearance.
The “FOREIGN” mark on the underside indicates production for the Western market and places this teapot in the interwar period. A characterful piece that is both visually functional and decoratively strong — perfect as a centerpiece in a display cabinet or on an open shelf.
