Japanese Satsuma Moriage Vase – Hand-painted & Richly Gilded – Showa Period (c. 1950–1970) – 9.5 cm
A characteristic Japanese Satsuma Moriage vase from the Showa period (approx. 1950–1970), richly decorated with hand-painted figures, raised relief and gilded accents.
The vase features classic Japanese scenes in segmented panels, framed by refined gold lines and raised moriage details. The relief decoration – visible in the pearlescent dots and raised patterns – gives the object depth and texture.
The combination of black, red, green and warm gold against the subtle craquelé background creates a powerful yet refined whole.
With its compact size of 9.5 cm, this is a distinctive decorative object, ideal for a display cabinet, dresser or as a refined accent within a collection of Japanese ceramics.
The gilding shows slight wear consistent with age and use, but structurally the vase is in good vintage condition without cracks or chips.
