Japanese Satsuma-Style Moriage Miniature Dish with Figures – Meiji Period c. 1900

€44,50

A refined Japanese miniature dish from around 1900, executed in the characteristic Satsuma style and richly decorated with gold, enamel colors, and moriage relief.

The dish displays a traditional figural scene with three people in colorful robes. The clothing and background are composed of various decorative panels with patterns in cobalt blue, iron red, green, and warm gold.

Small raised pearl clusters and relief lines in enamel and gold are applied across the surface. This moriage technique gives the object a subtle three-dimensional texture and is characteristic of Japanese export decoration from the late Meiji period.

Due to its compact size and rich decoration, this is a charming collector's item that looks beautiful in a display cabinet or as part of a collection of Japanese ceramics.
