A monumental academic edition in large format (27 cm), bound in half-leather with gold print and Roman numeral volume numbering. The set includes:

Richly illustrated with full-page reproductions, color plates of medieval miniatures, and historical portraits. The illustrations give the whole a strong visual character that goes beyond purely textual study material.

The bindings show signs of use consistent with their age, with scuffs and wear to the leather. The interior, however, is remarkably clean and sturdy. A complete and solid set.

A representative interbellum edition that is both academically and decoratively appealing.
