German Prayer Book 1875 – Im Kreuz ist Heil – Luxury Metal Binding with Agnus Dei – Kevelaer
Antique Catholic prayer book “Im Kreuz ist Heil” (In the Cross there is Salvation), printed in 1875 in Kevelaer by Butzon & Bercker.
Bound in an exceptionally ornate binding with a gilded metal frame, cross-shaped corner fittings, and a central relief of the Agnus Dei (Lamb of God). The gilded edges are remarkably well-preserved, and the original metal clasp functions correctly.
The spine is covered with deep burgundy velvet and features a gilded title plate “Gebetbuch” (Prayer Book). The interior contains chromolithographic devotional prints and is in clean, stable condition. The binding is completely intact.
A high-quality 19th-century Catholic edition from the pilgrimage site of Kevelaer, produced as a personal devotional or gift book.
