New Biblical Diary | G.F. Callenbach Nijkerk | c. 1935–1950
An atmospheric Protestant diary from the interwar period, published by G.F. Callenbach in Nijkerk.
This "New Biblical Diary" contains a short meditation with a Bible reference and a concluding poem for each day of the year. The austere typography with purple border lines and the simple black linen binding with gold print give the book a characteristic 1930s/1940s appearance.
The top edge is painted yellow, which gives the book a subtle decorative accent.
Inside are some handwritten notes and names, giving it a personal and historical character.
