This Portuguese edition of A Bíblia Sagrada was published by the Sociedade Bíblica do Brasil in 1969 and contains the classic João Ferreira de Almeida translation – the most influential Protestant Bible translation in Portuguese.

Bound in black imitation leather with gold print, gilt-edged pages and metal corner protectors. The crescent moon index and satin ribbon bookmark give it an understated, timeless look.

A beautiful cultural object – not only religious, but also a tangible reminder of the growth of evangelical Brazil in the second half of the 20th century.

For us, a special piece due to its Brazilian origin – therefore possibly part of our personal collection.
