Gilded Christ Corpus – Brass Crucifix Figure – approx. 1920–1950
Loose Christ corpus from a crucifix, executed in gilded cast metal with a characteristic patina.
The figure shows Christ with closed eyes and a classically draped loincloth. The design is austere and powerful, with a distinct early 20th-century appearance. The back is hollow cast and has mounting holes, indicating that it was originally mounted on a wooden cross.
The gilding shows signs of wear and slight oxidation, commensurate with its age. Structurally fully intact.
A strong religious object with a clear presence, suitable for re-mounting on a cross or as a standalone wall object.
