Statenvertaling Bible c. 1930 – A. Jongbloed Leeuwarden – Large Format 28cm

€74,50

Large interbellum Statenbijbel, published by A. Jongbloed N.V. in Leeuwarden.

A substantial copy, 28 cm high and approx. 6 cm thick, bound in black linen with sober blind tooling and gilt lettering "BIJBEL" on the spine. The edges are in classic marbling.

Contains the complete Holy Scripture – Old and New Testament – according to the Statenvertaling, based on the decisions of the Synod of Dordrecht (1618–1619).

Typical of the solid Jongbloed editions from the interbellum: clearly set in double columns, calm typography, and sturdy paper.

The interior is complete and in neat, readable condition. The last quire is partially loose, and the spine shows signs of wear appropriate for a book of approximately 90 years old. Otherwise, a presentable, characterful copy.

A large pre-war family Bible with a sober appearance – suitable as a reading copy or as a decorative religious object.
