Hand-Carved Stone Elephant – Vintage African Soapstone Sculpture – 16 cm

Solid hand-carved elephant made of natural stone, probably soapstone, with warm brown-grey markings and natural veins in the material.

The sculpture is compact yet heavy and features a powerful, stylized form. The skin texture is hand-carved, creating a lively texture that contrasts beautifully with the smoothly polished head and tusks.

The natural color nuances and veins in the head give the piece character and make each one unique. The elephant stands firmly on four legs and has a slightly curved trunk, giving it a calm yet present appearance.

Vintage condition. There is a visible repair to the right front foot and a small chip on the right tusk. No major breaks or structural damage.
