An elegant antique porcelain sugar bowl from around 1900, executed in a soft blue ground color and richly decorated with butterflies and gilded details.

The spherical pot stands on a small foot and has two graceful gilded handles. Finely crafted butterflies with delicate gold lines and warm enamel colors fly across the blue surface. Small gold-colored rosette motifs give the whole a playful and light appearance.

The rim of the pot is finished with a black band featuring geometric gold decoration, a stylistic characteristic often found in porcelain from the Art Nouveau period. The original lid is present and features the same butterfly motif decoration.

The combination of the blue ground, the refined gold work, and the nature motif makes this a typical fin-de-siècle decorative object.

A charming antique piece that looks beautiful in a display cabinet, on a set table, or as part of a collection of European porcelain.
