Antique 1671 – Petrus de Witte – Catechization on the Heidelberg Catechism – Amsterdam
An impressive 17th-century theological work from the Dutch Golden Age.
This "Catechization on the Heidelberg Catechism" was printed in Amsterdam in 1671. It is an early Reformed edition, written by Petrus de Witte, a preacher in Leiden.
The book is in fair, well-used condition with its original leather binding. The title page is complete and features the year 1671. Inside, there is a beautiful engraving and a 19th-century owner's inscription (1860).
An impressively thick copy with beautiful patina, heavily discolored edges, and authentic signs of use — exactly as one would expect from a 350-year-old book.
