A.J. Holman Pronouncing Holy Bible | King James Version ca. 1934-1936 | Gilt edges
A beautiful, compact A.J. Holman Pronouncing Edition Holy Bible, published in Philadelphia during the interwar period.
This King James Version is finished with a luxury black binding, full gilt edges, and the original red Holman ribbon marker. The red base color of the book block creates a distinctive red-gold effect when the Bible is viewed at an angle.
The book contains the complete Old and New Testaments, pronunciation marks for Biblical names, and several original maps in the back. The inscription on the flyleaf is dated June 6, 1936, which neatly places this edition in the interwar period.
The book block feels sturdy and is in neat, used condition. The gilt edges are largely preserved and the pages are clean, making this both a lovely collector's item and a decorative piece.
