Published in Leuven in 1943: this third revised edition of the Sunday Missal with Vespers from the Keizersberg Abbey provided Catholic believers with a comprehensive guide to the Sunday liturgy and the liturgical year.

The extensive missal combines Latin liturgical texts with Dutch translations and explanations. In addition to the Masses for Sundays and feast days, it includes, among other things, Vespers, Compline, prayers, the Proper of the Saints, and calendars for the various Belgian dioceses. The liturgical calendar runs from 1943 to 1968.

Beautiful religious illustrations based on historical prints are scattered throughout the book. The missal is bound in black grained leather with gold-colored spine ornaments, a colored edge, and several colored reading ribbons.

This copy also contains two old devotional pictures, including a personal memorial picture from 1952 for the young deceased Frans Vandermeersch from Moorslede. These pictures remained with the book as part of its history of use.

The missal was published during the Second World War and bears ecclesiastical approvals from March 1943. The printing was carried out by Desclée De Brouwer & Co. in Bruges.
