Statenbijbel 1924 - Netherlands Bible Society - Amsterdam

A Dutch Statenbijbel from 1924, published by the Nederlandsch Bijbelgenootschap in Amsterdam.

This antique Bible contains the Old and New Testaments in the classic Statenvertaling (States Translation). The text is printed in two columns and follows the traditional Dutch Bible editions from the beginning of the twentieth century.

The black binding features a gold-colored title on the front cover. Notable features include the gold-edged pages with red accents and the gray endpapers with a fine geometric pattern.

Inside the front cover is a handwritten inscription from Easter 1935, addressed to someone named Riek. Several later-added religious notes have also been preserved, including texts on pastoral care. These personal traces give the book its own history.

A characterful specimen from the interwar period, interesting for enthusiasts of old Bibles, religious history, and historical bookbindings.
