Artil Utrecht Pewter Elephant with Accordion | 92% Pewter | approx. 1970-1990
A small musician from the animal orchestra by Artil Utrecht. This vintage pewter miniature depicts an elephant enthusiastically playing the accordion, complete with a lifted leg and curled trunk.
The figure is part of a larger series of musical animals by Artil, where various animals each play their own instrument and together form a unique miniature orchestra. This makes the elephant not only a fun standalone figurine but also an interesting addition to an existing collection from this series.
Despite its size of only approximately 6 cm, the figurine is detailed. The elephant's skin features fine relief textures, and the ears, legs, tusks, and small accordion have all been carefully modeled. The figure stands on a round base and is finished in natural silver-grey pewter.
The underside bears the original Artil Utrecht mark with the designation 92% tin, the marking HEG, and the number N1274. A characterful piece of Dutch vintage and a great find for collectors of Artil, pewter miniatures, and the animal orchestra from the Utrecht pewter foundry.
