Love and Reparation - André Prévot - French Prayer Book - Turnhout ca. 1933

French-language Roman Catholic prayer and devotional book from the interwar period: Amour et Réparation, Trésor de prières et de pratiques réparatrices by R.P. André Prévot S.C.J. This 9th edition was published around 1933 by the Procure des Prêtres du Sacré-Coeur in Ixelles-Brussels and was printed by Splichal in Turnhout.

The book serves as an extensive devotional manual centered on the Sacred Heart of Jesus and contains 160 pages of prayers, meditations, and religious exercises. Topics include the revelations to Saint Margaret Mary, the Eucharist, communion, litanies, consecrations, the Holy Hour, the Stations of the Cross, Marian devotion, and prayers for missions, the deceased, and souls in Purgatory.

The original black binding is finished with embossed frames, gold-colored religious symbolism, and the inscription Amour et Réparation. The back cover bears a blind-stamped IHS christogram. Red page edges and decorated endpapers complete the refined execution.

Of particular note are the preserved loose devotional items from the Saint Norbert Church in Zurenborg, Antwerp. One of these pieces is dated January 1950 and constitutes a tangible trace of the later religious use of this copy.
