Captain Hatteras: The Englishmen at the North Pole (Part 1) - Jules Verne - Elsevier 1980

A classic from Jules Verne's Voyages extraordinaires: The Travels and Adventures of Captain Hatteras: The English at the North Pole, in Elsevier's characteristic blue band.

In this first part of Captain Hatteras, the expedition of the Forward begins towards the northern polar regions. The journey takes them past icy seas, extreme cold, and increasingly dangerous conditions, richly illustrated with the original engravings that accompany Verne's adventure stories.

This unabridged Dutch edition was published in 1980 as the fourth edition in Elsevier's well-known series of blue-banded books. The blue cloth binding features extensive black travel illustrations and gold lettering, including a ship, hot-air balloon, and explorers on the front cover.

An atmospheric vintage edition for lovers of Jules Verne, classic adventure literature, and the recognizable Dutch Voyages extraordinaires series.
