Catechism on the Heidelberg Catechism - Petrus de Witte - Amsterdam 1671

An impressive 17th-century theological work from the Dutch Golden Age.

This “Catechizatie over den Heidelberghschen Catechismus” was printed in Amsterdam in 1671. It is an early Reformed edition, written by Petrus de Witte, a minister in Leiden.

The book is in an honest, well-loved condition with its original leather binding. The title page is complete and features the year 1671. Inside, there is a fine engraving and a 19th-century owner's inscription (1860).

An impressively thick copy with beautiful patina, heavily discolored edges, and authentic signs of wear — exactly as one would expect from a 350-year-old book.
