French Missal First Holy Communion c. 1924 | Gilt Leather Binding | A. Taffin-Lefort Paris Lille

Rs. 7,500.00

A beautiful antique French missal for First Holy Communion, published around 1924-1926 by the well-known Catholic publisher A. Taffin-Lefort from Paris and Lille.

This richly executed missal features a beautiful leather binding with elaborate gold stamping, gilded page edges, and stunning hand-marbled endpapers. Inside are several colorful religious chromolithographs that give the book a particularly refined and decorative appearance.

The missal contains the traditional Roman Catholic liturgy in French and Latin, including the mass for Sundays, major church holidays, gospels, epistles, and prayers according to the pre-Vatican II liturgy.

Three historical devotional cards were found at the first endpaper. These are included as part of the book's history.

The leather binding is in a lovely antique condition with much of the original gold work still intact. The binding has partially loosened after the first endpapers, and one page is partially detached. Otherwise, the book is well-preserved with a solid text block, beautiful gilded edges, and clean pages.
