Way of the Cross Rosary | 14 Stations & Blue Glass Beads | Ca. 1940-1960
Ziggy's Collection
A special vintage Catholic Way of the Cross rosary, composed of blue and white marbled glass beads and fourteen individual metal relief medals depicting the stations of the Cross.
Each station bears the corresponding Roman numeral from I to XIV on the reverse. The small reliefs thus follow the passion of Christ step by step, making the prayer beads suitable for the traditional Via Crucis devotion.
Between the stations are striking, irregularly shaped beads of blue and white marbled glass. In addition to the fourteen station medals, the string features several devotional items, including a small Sacred Heart medal, a colored Marian medallion, and a large elongated pendant with Christ and the Sacred Heart.
Due to the combination of the fourteen individual Stations of the Cross, the characterful glass beads, and the various religious medals, this is a particularly extensive example of a Catholic devotional and prayer chain.
