Firefly - Herman Heijermans - Illustrated Book - Van Holkema & Warendorf Amsterdam

Illustrated edition of “Vuurvlindertje - Een nieuw verhaal voor groote kinderen” by the Dutch author Herman Heijermans.

Heijermans is one of the most important Dutch authors from the beginning of the twentieth century and is best known for the play Op Hoop van Zegen. In Vuurvlindertje, he opts for a more narrative and almost fairytale-like style.

This edition features illustrations by George van Raemdonck, a well-known illustrator and cartoonist from the same period. His expressive line drawings give the book a recognizable and characteristic appearance.

The book is bound in the original brown linen publisher's binding with gold lettering and a decorative cover panel with an illustration. Inside, several illustrations accompany the story.

Due to the combination of literature, illustration, and a characteristic publisher's binding, this is an attractive book for lovers of early 20th-century Dutch literature, illustrated books, and decorative vintage books.
