Handmade Ceramic Bull Whistle | Latin American Folk Art
A unique handmade ceramic whistle in the shape of a bull, executed in unglazed earthenware clay. The bull features a distinct folk art design with large curved horns, an expressive head, and intentionally simply modeled legs and tail.
The figurine is fully three-dimensionally constructed and is also a small musical instrument. By blowing air through the opening at the back into the hollow ceramic form, the bull functions as a whistle.
The asymmetrical modeling, applied clay details, and visible traces of the making process give each view a different character. The form aligns with the long Latin American tradition of ceramic animal whistles and folk pottery.
A small but striking piece of folk art that is interesting both as a ceramic object and a traditional musical instrument.
