Handmade ceramic figurine “The Blacksmith” - c. 1940–1970
A sober and characterful ceramic figurine of a blacksmith at the anvil, executed in a matte black patina. The piece breathes craftsmanship and concentration: a moment of rest in the middle of work, captured in ceramic.
The figurine is handmade and likely originates from a small studio. The black finish shows signs of wear and minor chips in a few places, revealing the lighter ceramic underneath. This contributes to its lived-in character and honestly shows the object's age. On the back, there is an engraved monogram, the creator of which has unfortunately remained unknown.
A restrained yet powerful object that fits perfectly in an interior with an appreciation for materials, labor, and storytelling.
