New Testament (Statenvertaling) - Nederlandsche Bijbel-Compagnie, Amsterdam / Haarlem 1884

An impressive 19th-century copy of The New Testament according to the official Statenvertaling (States Translation).

Printed in 1884 in Haarlem by Johannes Enschedé en Zonen on behalf of the Netherlands Bible Company.

This edition is bound in a full leather binding with a ribbed spine and features remarkably well-preserved gilt edges. The book contains the official text as established after the Synod of Dordrecht (1618–1619) and includes the “Acte van Waarborg” (Certificate of Guarantee) of 1867.

Originally, the book was fitted with metal clasps; these are now missing. The book block is firm, however, and the interior is in tidy antique condition.

A powerful 19th-century religious heritage object.
