Daily Missal with Vespers | Leather Catholic Missal | Keizersberg Abbey Leuven | approx. 1950-1956
A beautifully executed Catholic daily missal from the 1950s, published by Keizersberg Abbey in Leuven and printed by Brepols in Belgium.
This missal contains the Latin Mass with Dutch explanations, supplemented by vespers, ritual texts, and Gregorian chant notation. It was published shortly before the major liturgical reforms of the Second Vatican Council and thus represents the traditional Catholic worship as it was used for generations.
The book is bound in a handsome brown leather cover with gold stamping, blind embossing, and three original ribbon markers. A special feature is that the original protective slipcase is still present, which is rarely seen nowadays.
A beautiful collector's item for enthusiasts of religious books, Catholic history, or classic bookbindings. Also very suitable as an atmospheric decorative object in a library or classic interior.
