Holy Bible - Brazilian Bible 1969 - João Ferreira de Almeida

This Portuguese edition of A Bíblia Sagrada was published by the Sociedade Bíblica do Brasil in 1969 and contains the classic João Ferreira de Almeida translation, the most influential Protestant Bible translation in Portuguese.

Bound in black imitation leather with gold lettering, gilt page edges, and metal corner protectors. The crescent-shaped index and satin ribbon marker give the whole a subdued, timeless appearance.

A beautiful cultural object, a tangible reminder of the growth of evangelical Brazil in the second half of the 20th century.

For us, it is a special piece because of its Brazilian origin, part of the personal collection in which we gather as many different languages of Bibles, missals, and psalters as possible.
