A characterful antique crucifix from the early 20th century, featuring a gilded metal corpus on a wooden cross in a log style.

The corpus is cast and displays a classic Christ figure with refined details in the loincloth and facial features. At the top is the INRI plaque, and at the bottom the traditional skull, referencing Golgotha.

The passage of time has clearly left its mark here. The corpus shows multiple breaks and cracks, including at the head and shoulder, and a detached arm. It is precisely this damage that gives the piece a raw, weathered appearance that fits perfectly within an interior with character.

The wooden cross is original to the corpus and is in good condition with a beautiful dark patina.

A particularly decorative object for lovers of religious art, antiques with a story, or pieces with a distinct aesthetic.

Specifications:

  • Height of corpus: approx. 30 cm
  • Dimensions of cross: approx. 70 x 35 cm
  • Material of corpus: gilded metal (cast)
  • Material of cross: wood
  • Dating: approx. 1900-1930
  • Origin: presumably Western Europe
