A beautifully preserved copy of Œuvres de Molière, published in Paris in 1784 by Chez la Veuve David. This fifth volume of an eight-part collection contains four works by the famous French playwright Molière, including his well-known comedy L'Avare (The Miser).

The book is bound in a decorative leather cover with a marbled pattern, fine gilt borders, and a richly decorated spine. The green spine labels with gold-colored lettering, red-dyed page edges, and the preserved fabric ribbon marker give the book its characteristic 18th-century appearance.

The text is printed in French and is supplemented with engraved illustrations, including a mythological scene for Amphitryon.

This copy is now over 240 years old and is in well-maintained antiquarian condition. The binding shows localized wear, mainly at the edges and corners, while the pages are predominantly clean and highly legible.

An attractive piece of French literary history, for both collectors of old books and enthusiasts of classic bookbindings.
