This is a family heirloom and therefore belongs to my keepers.
A beautiful little prayer book from the early 20th century, bound in a warm leather cover with its original clasp. The book contains the New Testament, the Psalms, Hymns, and the Heidelberg Catechism, as was customary at the time within the Reformed churches in the Netherlands.
On the inside cover, there is a handwritten dedication from December 1911. This personal inscription makes this copy special to me, as it was given as a gift within my family at that time. There is also a loose, handwritten reference to Psalm 89 inside the book.
The book has a beautiful, lived-in patina. The leather binding and original clasp are intact, and the paper is lightly yellowed, appropriate for its age. The interior is otherwise in neat and highly readable condition.
