A small French devotional book from the late 19th century, intended for daily use and personal reflection.

This edition of Imitation de la Très Sainte Vierge was printed for Catholic practice and carries both Parisian and Belgian influences, with an ecclesiastical approval from Mechelen. Its compact size made it ideal to carry with one.

The linen binding and gilt edges give the booklet an understated, classic look. The copy is numbered (No. 616), which gives it an extra personal character within the print run.

The condition shows that the book has been used: the binding has come loose and the cover shows wear. This adds to the authenticity and the story of the object.
