The New Testament & Psalms (Statenvertaling) - Netherlands Bible Society 1870

An impressive 19th-century Bible from 1870, published by the Nederlandsche Bijbel-Compagnie in Amsterdam and Haarlem.

This edition contains the New Testament according to the Statenvertaling (States Translation), supplemented with the Book of Psalms and the hymns as used within the Reformed Church of the Netherlands.

Bound in a dark brown leather cover with an original clasp and gilt edges. The Bible is remarkably compact but exceptionally thick (6 cm), which gives the book a powerful and monumental character.

An authentic piece of Dutch Protestant heritage, printed in the 19th century and preserved in above-average condition.
