The Old Testament (1948) – Prof. Dr. H.Th. Obbink – Sixth Edition – Sijthoff Leiden

A sober and characterful post-war edition of The Old Testament, translated by Prof. Dr. H.Th. Obbink and published in Leiden in 1948.

This abridged edition reflects the restrained style of the late 1940s: black linen binding, gold lettering, and clear, academic typography. A book that not only carries religious significance, but also looks aesthetically stunning in a vintage interior or on a bookshelf.

The binding shows light signs of wear consistent with its age, but the interior is remarkably neat and firmly bound.

A beautiful piece of Dutch post-war printing history.

While this book may not be rare, it is currently unique in our collection in terms of provenance and language. Please note that the price may not be in line with the market.
