An early Dutch edition of Gone with the Wind, the famous novel by Margaret Mitchell published in 1936, which became world-famous due to the iconic 1939 film adaptation. Part two

This special edition features black-and-white film stills from the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer production. The large illustrations show scenes with Scarlett O’Hara and Rhett Butler, giving the book a clear link to the film history of this classic.

The book has a landscape format, a style often used at the time for illustrated editions to allow the film stills to be displayed to their full advantage. Beneath the dust jacket is a linen hardcover binding with gold lettering and a decorative element on the front cover.

The original dust jacket is damaged and the binding shows wear, causing the book block to be partially detached from the spine. The interior is complete and the illustrations are well-preserved.

A characterful vintage edition of one of the best-known novels of the twentieth century.
