Parish Manual - Tardy Editions 1971 - Vintage French Church Book

Manuel des Paroisses is a French Roman Catholic parish handbook from 1971, published by Éditions Tardy in collaboration with A.C.R. This compact church book combines the liturgy of the Mass with prayers, sacraments, psalms, and an extensive collection of French Catholic hymns.

The edition was published during a period when Catholic liturgy was undergoing significant changes. Following the Second Vatican Council, the vernacular language was given a much more prominent place in worship. This French edition serves as a fine document of that time, featuring the Mass liturgy in French, musical notation, and hundreds of hymns for use within the parish.

The book is bound in green linen, with a stylized depiction of fish and bread on the front cover—traditional Christian symbolism referring to the Eucharist and the miracle of the multiplication of the loaves. Inside, the texts are clearly printed in black and red.

A characteristic French church book from the early 1970s, interesting as a religious collectible and as a tangible document of the Catholic liturgical renewal of that period.
