Hand-painted Ceramic Wall Tile with Fish – Oriental Style ca. 1990

Decorative round wall tile with a dynamic fish motif in cobalt blue.

The design is hand-applied using an underglaze technique, which is visible in the soft transitions and the slightly bleeding pigment in the glaze. The circling fish and playful movement of the water give the piece a lively appearance.

The tile is industrially formed but hand-finished, which results in subtle variations in line and character. The imagery is clearly inspired by oriental motifs, without being tied to a direct origin.

A compact and stylish object that looks great as wall decor or displayed on a stand.
