Ziggy's Collection

An authentic 19th-century New Testament in the Statenvertaling (States Translation), published by the Nederlandsche Bijbel-Compagnie and printed by J. Brandt & Zoon (Amsterdam) and Johannes Enschedé en Zonen (Haarlem).

This compact copy (approx. 12 cm high) is typical for personal use and was often carried around or consulted daily. The Statenvertaling, established during the Synod of Dordrecht (1618–1619), remained the standard in Protestant Netherlands during this period.

Inside is a handwritten inscription from 1929, which adds an extra personal and historical layer to the item.

Condition:
Good condition, with light wear to the binding consistent with its age. The book block is sturdy and complete.

A small but characterful religious work that is both historically interesting and an atmospheric object for an interior or collection.
