Graduale Romanum - Gregorian Liturgical Chants - Solesmes 1979

The Graduale Romanum is the official liturgical songbook for the Gregorian chants of the Roman Catholic Mass. This substantial Solesmes edition from 1979 contains over nine hundred pages of Latin liturgical texts and Gregorian music in traditional square notation.

The edition is based on the 1974 edition revised after the Second Vatican Council and was prepared according to the singing tradition of the Benedictine monks of the Abbey of Saint-Pierre de Solesmes, internationally renowned for their important role in the study and preservation of Gregorian chant.

The book contains the chants for the liturgical year, feasts of saints, and various parts of the Mass, including introitus, gradualia, alleluias, offertoria, and communiones. At the back, it also includes proper liturgical chants for monasteries of the Order of Saint Benedict.

Bound in a plain black binding with the title "Graduale Romanum" on the spine, with red edges and several colored ribbon markers. A distinctive and still substantively relevant book for collectors of Catholic liturgy, Gregorian music, and monastic history.
