Ziggy's Collection

A characterful hand-carved wooden statue of a traditional Asian sage.

The figure is crafted from solid wood and depicts a standing man with a wide hat and a staff. The angular carving lines and visible gouge marks reveal traditional craftsmanship. The dark stain gives the statue a warm, deep appearance.

This type of statue was produced for the export market in the 20th century and is now popular as a decorative object in interiors with worldly or minimalist influences.

The statue stands steadily on an integrated base and has a calm, balanced posture.
