New Testament (Statenvertaling) - NBC, Amsterdam / Haarlem 1884 - With clasp
Ziggy's Collection
An antique copy of the New Testament according to the Statenvertaling (States Translation), printed in 1884 by the Nederlandsche Bijbel-Compagnie.
This edition contains the official translation as established after the Synod of Dordrecht (1618–1619) and was printed by renowned printers from Haarlem.
Bound in a full leather cover with gold-gilt edges and featuring a decorative metal clasp. The book has an impressive thickness of 5 cm and exudes 19th-century sturdiness.
The leather cover shows signs of age and cracks along the edges; the metal clasp functions but no longer closes tightly. The interior is well-preserved.
A powerful historical object from the Dutch Protestant tradition.
