Ziggy's Collection

A refined Japanese mocha set from the interwar period, crafted in exceptionally thin eggshell porcelain and richly gilded with etched gold decorations.

The cups are hand-painted with figurative scenes in cartouches, surrounded by cloud motifs, crescent moons, and subtle relief details in gold. The porcelain is remarkably thin and translucent, characteristic of export eggshell from the 1930s–40s.

The combination of the delicate size (6 cm high), the abundant gold, and the refined brushwork gives the set a distinct Art Deco appearance.

The set is in very neat vintage condition with light, age-appropriate wear to the gold.
