Christ at the Door Print | Albrecht & Meister Berlin | ca. 1920-1940
Old German devotional print featuring the classic image of Christ knocking at a closed door, a Christian iconographic motif referring to Revelation 3:20.
The detailed monochrome image shows Christ with a cruciform halo, staff, and richly decorated robes standing before a wooden door. The original oval AMAG logo with number 1054 is located at the bottom right. AMAG was the brand of the Berlin publisher Albrecht & Meister AG, known for its illustrated printed matter and picture cards in the first half of the 20th century.
The print has been preserved in an old presentation with a deep red mat, glass, and a wide cream-colored cardboard frame. The combination of the historical AMAG print and the original aged presentation makes this a characterful piece of religious wall decor.
The whole is in authentic vintage condition with visible signs of age and use. The glass has a crack in the lower left corner, as clearly shown in the photos.
