Japanese Blue and White Dragon Motif Plate – 15.5 cm

Vintage Japanese blue and white porcelain plate with a powerful dragon motif and a border of phoenixes and floral vines.

The plate is executed in classic underglaze cobalt blue and features an expressive central dragon, surrounded by a richly decorated rim. The composition is inspired by traditional Chinese motifs but was produced for export in Japan in the first half of the 20th century.

The underside bears an impressed stamp with a crown and “Japan”.
