A distinctive hand-molded terracotta sculpture of a stylized lion dog, executed in warm reddish-brown earthenware. The animal features a strikingly expressive head with an open mouth, protruding tongue, large ears, and a richly detailed mane. The high loop-shaped tail and spiral ornaments on the body enhance its pronounced sculptural character.

The depiction aligns with the East Asian tradition of the guardian lion or lion dog, a mythical creature that has been used as a protective symbol in Asian visual culture for centuries. The piece is crafted and finished using traditional methods, with minor differences and irregularities in the modeling forming part of the object's character.

The sculpture is also technically interesting. The body is hollow, and several small openings were incorporated into the earthenware during production. Details such as the tongue, ears, mane, decorative motifs, and strongly curved tail were modeled separately, giving the sculpture a different appearance from every angle.
