Chinese Porcelain Covered Jar | Hand-painted Millefleurs Decor | Circa 1960-1980

Vintage Chinese porcelain lidded jar, richly hand-painted with a colorful floral decor on a deep blue background.

Almost the entire surface of both the jar and the matching domed lid is decorated with chrysanthemums and other stylized flowers and leaves. Pink, turquoise, yellow, green, and iron-red contrast sharply against the blue background. A distinct geometric decorative band runs around the neck, providing a nice finish to the ornamentation.

The design is executed in polychrome overglaze enamel. The visible variations in brushwork, outlines, and color fields give the piece a distinct artisanal character. The shape also shows slight irregularities consistent with traditional manufacturing.

The jar is in beautiful vintage condition with no chips, cracks, or hairlines. Minor firing and glaze imperfections are present and are part of the original production process.

A compact yet striking piece of Chinese decorative porcelain with an exceptionally rich floral decor.
